Akenn Travel & Tours was built from a love of travel, discovery and the simple joy of seeing people happy when a trip comes together.
Today, we help individuals, families, groups and organisations plan and coordinate travel with care, honesty and attention to detail.
OUR STORY
Akenn started with a love for travel. It grew because people needed someone to take the work off their hands.
Akenn began in 2018 with a genuine love for travel, discovering new destinations, experiencing different cultures and meeting people from different parts of the world.
But somewhere along the way, it became about something bigger.
It became about putting smiles on people’s faces by helping them get where they wanted to go.
We discovered that good travel planning is not simply about finding a flight or booking a hotel. It is about knowing what to look out for, asking the right questions, finding the right options and staying involved when things do not go exactly according to plan.
That is the kind of travel company we have always wanted Akenn to be.
OUR EXPERIENCE
We've learned what it takes to get a trip right.
We have been doing this for real people, real groups and real journeys.
Over the years, we have planned trips for individuals, families, corporate clients and groups, learning first-hand what it takes to bring all the moving parts together.
We have handled large corporate and group movements, including a group of 120 travellers to Dubai and an 84 person corporate trip to Dubai.
We have also planned group journeys to destinations including Maldives, Egypt, Mauritius, Dubai, Doha, South Africa and Marrakech, alongside individual and family travel across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Our work has included flights, accommodation, visas, transfers, itineraries, excursions, cruises and the coordination of multiple suppliers behind the scenes.
We have worked with returning corporate clients, families, groups and individual travellers.
The numbers matter to us because they represent real people who trusted us with their money, their documents, their time and their holidays.
But what matters even more is what we learnt from every trip.

Akenn was founded from a genuine love of travel and a desire to make the experience of getting there easier for other people.
Over the years, that has meant learning that travel is about much more than bookings. It is about trust.
Clients trust us with their money. They trust us with their passports and personal information. They trust us to recommend hotels, airlines, destinations and arrangements that will affect their experience.
That responsibility is taken seriously.
It is also why Akenn has grown around a straightforward principle: if we would not recommend it to ourselves, we should not recommend it to our clients.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Good travel starts with telling people the truth.
We believe clients deserve honest advice before they make a decision, not explanations after something has gone wrong.
01 — THE RIGHT HOTEL
We will tell you when a hotel is not good enough.
We do not recommend accommodation simply because it is available or inexpensive. The hotel has to make sense for the trip, the destination and the client’s expectations.
02 — HONEST VISA ADVICE
We will tell you when a visa case needs more work.
If we believe an application is weak or requires improvement, we will say so. Sometimes the right advice is to strengthen the case before applying. Sometimes it is to reconsider the application altogether.
03 — PROPER DOCUMENTATION
We do things properly.
We do not create documents that should not exist, misrepresent information or promise outcomes that are outside our control.
04 — REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS
Your budget has to work for the trip you want.
If what you want cannot realistically be achieved within your budget, we will tell you and help you explore other options.
05 — NO EMPTY PROMISES
Nobody can guarantee a visa approval.
We can help you assess the case, prepare properly and coordinate the process. The final decision belongs to the relevant authorities.
06 — THE CLIENT COMES FIRST
We would rather lose a booking than take money for something we do not believe is right for you.
HOW WE WORK
We take responsibility for the moving parts.
Travel can involve several bookings, suppliers and decisions. Our job is to make those moving parts easier for you to manage.
You can come to Akenn for one service, such as flights, accommodation or visa assistance, or ask us to coordinate the entire journey.
We work with the relevant airlines, hotels, DMCs, embassies and other suppliers involved in your trip, while keeping you informed about the decisions that matter.
You provide what is required. We handle the coordination. You pack your suitcase.
WHEN THINGS DO NOT GO TO PLAN
When something changes, you should know who is handling it.
Flights change. Visa decisions can take longer than expected. Suppliers can have problems. Circumstances at a destination can change.
When something goes wrong, we do not believe in disappearing after the booking has been made.
We work with the relevant airline, DMC, embassy, supplier or other party involved to understand what has happened and identify the options available.
We have had situations where visa applications required additional engagement with an embassy and where group travel required coordination between several parties. Those experiences have taught us that good travel management is not only about getting everything booked. It is also about knowing what to do when things change.
THE AKENN STANDARD
There are some things we simply will not compromise on.
01 — GOOD HOTELS
We do not recommend a hotel simply because it is cheap. It has to make sense for the trip, the client and the budget.
02 — HONEST ADVICE
If we think an option is unsuitable, we will tell you before you spend your money.
03 — PROPER DOCUMENTATION
We work with the documentation required for legitimate travel and visa processes.
04 — VALUE
We look at what you are getting for what you are paying, not simply the lowest available price.
05 — RESPONSIBILITY
We take the arrangements entrusted to us seriously and stay involved when problems arise.
06 — PRIVACY
Your passport, personal information and travel details should be handled with care.
